Early of 14th century, first generation sword smith KANEHARU 兼春

who was one of the 10 genius smiths of MASAMUNE 正宗, learned Soshu-den technique based on his own original Tegai school of Yamato-den workmanship and had transmitted his pupils such as KANETOMO 兼友, KANETOSHI 兼俊, KANENOBU 兼信 in Naoe town during Nanbokucho period then the early Muromachi period, KANEHISA 兼久, KANEKIYO 兼清, KANEAKI 兼秋 and KANEYUKI 兼行 appeared, a group of those makers is called Naoe-Shizu lineage 直江志津.
